Alabama Law

Does anyone know what the Alabama Law is concerning preschool students who are only receiving speech therapy services through the state, and vaccinations? We were just informed that we must register our child as a student, which includes submitting the Blue Card.

I was also wondering what the laws are concerning the Blue Card, and if and how we can opt out of the state vaccine registry?

Alabama is a no opt out state. You can't get out of the registry. As far as exemption's the only one we have is religious. AND FWIW, ADPH (Alabama Dept of Health) can and will randomly call and ask you why your child hasn't been vaccinated. It happened to me when my now almost three year old was 3 months old. We selectively vax'd then, so he was a WHOPPING 3 shots behind.

I looked up the vaccination law here: http://www.adph.org/IMMUNIZATION/ass...hoolImmLaw.PDF

I suppose my question is that since my son is not in day care, and isn't entering Kindergarten, does the law really apply to him? He only attends speech therapy once a week for 30 minutes. That's it. I'm wondering if anyone has information regarding special needs services that would apply the vaccination laws to him.
