How to care for wound?

My little guy scraped is finger two days ago (in a VCR door) and then yesterday he burned his fingers (there is a space between our oven door and the 'storage' drawer that he put his fingers in that we didn't even know got hot). Poor little guy, his first 'owies'! Yesterday they were just a bit red and he wasn't very bothered by it but today he has a tiny blister on two fingers that have started to break open. After both incidences I only used lavender oil on the spots as I thought that it would heal and keep bacteria away but they are starting to look a little red. All suggestions are appreciated!

Thanks so much!

I would suggest using Iodine. We use food-grade drops on all of our owies, but I think the stuff from Wal-Mart or the drug-store would do great. Iodine penetrates the tissue, passing back and forth through many layers killing every nasty along the way. It also helps with cell death of damaged cells... Sounds bad, but really it just speeds up the healing process by nixing the cells that won't heal and promoting growth of new tissue from within the wound. It's my favorite thing to use on any boo-boo... Whenever we use it the wounds heal virtually scarless!

Keep up the lavender oil as well... That was a really good call!
