I just wanted to say I'm so sorry about your mom's diagnosis. I imagine this will be a tough holiday season, and will keep you in my thoughts.

Thank you so much. It all still seems very surreal. It certainly puts things in perspective, though. I know that docs can't be exact about life expectancy, but it seems certain that she won't live to see my 2-year-old turn 5, let alone see either of them graduate from high school. It's not what I expected. I don't know what I will do without her. For now I guess I need to appreciate what time we have left.

Oh Katielady, I'm so sorry to hear about your mom's diagnosis. It must be so difficult to get news like that, especially with her so far away. I wish you and your family the best.
