Potty time: where to begin?

My 22 month DD is showing signs of readiness. Last night after her bath, she wanted to sit on the potty and didn't want to get off and go to bed. She ended up nursing while on the potty for half an hour or so. Didn't happen for her right then, but she's definitely self-motivated (we've got a couple children's books about pottying and she finds them fascinating).

So, now it's time for me and my DH to figure out how to help her with this. I've heard about the three-day potty bootcamp, etc. But am not sure where to begin my own reading.

Recommendations?

We our DS, we just started offering him the potty often. My husband would always put him on before bath. Every morning his diaper would be dry, so I figured he had to pee, so I put him on the potty then too. Then whenever I changed his diaper, I'd ask him if he wanted to go potty. Sometimes he said yes, sometimes no. I figured I'd rather him go in the potty than in a fresh diaper. He eventually trained himself. Literally. We were on vacation, and he would just hold it until we offered, or he would ask to go. All labor day weekend, his diapers remained dry. (except for poop). I was shocked because he was even into using the big potties when at home he really just preferred his little one. Poop took about a week longer, and was a little more difficult, but he's now pretty much got it down. He's 22 months and in undies all the time. I'm super excited. I personally think this was the only way he'd do it. The 3 day training program, I don't think he would have complied with it very well. He doesn't really like naked time. He wants his "big boy underwears" on all the time. Good luck! It can be a slow process, but sometimes a quick one if you're lucky.

Thanks -- that sounds like a good way to go about it -- offering at the right times, bath, diaper changes, etc. I'll try it!
