EC was so much easier in the long run

I am so upset with myself that I didn't do much EC with my 2nd child. I did with my first child(DS) and he was potty trained in the daytime by 18months and night trained by 21 months (of course they will have accidents for a while but it is nothing that warrent putting on diapers, pullups, ect...).

I tried with my 2nd DD but got lazy, I guess because I had more things to deal with. Now at 18months she will just sit and pretend to pee on the potty but when she wants to poop she will run for her diaper so I can put it on So she knows what she want to do, she even tells us when she poops in her pamper. She would not even attempt to sit down during that time she needs to go and will hold it in if we try to put her on.

Now I know with this 3rd child(which is due in Feb) I am going right back to Ecing. Ohh..I did not do fulltime EC with DS, it was parttime until he was about 14 months and then I did a more fulltime thing in the daytime with him.

nak

That's one of my EC goals... just getting dd to get used to sitting and going on the potty. I only part-time EC, but I think it's important to build the association for the child's long-term comfort and familiarity.
