Ruskovilla nappy pants

How do you get the farm smell out of them? It makes me sneeze and nauseous Are they supposed to have such a strong smell? I have a pair of longies I got dd#2 before she was born and they don't smell like that.
Thanks I figured I would ask here since most of you I am sure have had them.

We have a pair and I have never noticed a farm smell, but I knit and am around a lot of wool so maybe it just doesn't bother me? Different yarns/wool can definitely have more of that farm smell than others, and it can be stronger when the wool is wet, but I definitely never felt like the nappy pants did.

In any case, you could wash them in something scented and that might help? I know some people don't like scents, but maybe you would prefer that to the farm smell. Eucalan has some essential oil scented wool wash, or lots of WAHMs sell scented wool wash for longies as well.

We don't own anything from Ruskovilla, we do have Aristocrats and Disanas. Like most lightly processed wools they smell slightly of sheep. It doesn't bother me, I find the smell comforting. But then everyone is different.

Try gently handwashing with Dawn dish soap then lanolizing with something yummy (I have lanolin from Abby's Lane with sleepy time essential oils http://www.abbyslane.com/catalog.php...et=catalog.php very lightly scented, just perfect). I lanolize with the lanolin and Eucalan.

That should help tone down the sheep smell. The more they get washed the less they will smell, but it might never go away.
