Washing Bumgenius one size

Do you need to unsnap the bumgenius one size diapers to wash them? I have to lower the rise, and snap it down, but do I have to unsnap it before washing?

I unsnapped the inserts, but not the pocket.

Not sure if this is the axact same diaper the OP is talking about....but I have a Bumgenius 3.0 One-size Reusable diaper. I'm wondering, about the washing first of all...So I wash the inserts and the pocket-cover together, in the same wash? Or are they separated the same way prefolds and wrap covers are?

Also, my Bumgenius diaper came with 2 inserts...a large "onesize" insert and a smaller "newborn" insert. Do you use one at a time or both at once? I can't really understand that. Like, is the onesize insert for all the time use, and the newborn insert is a back-up insert for newborns? I have a 5 week old baby and was just wondering....

TIA for any replies....

I don't unsnap either the covers or the inserts, just pull the inserts out and attach the velcro bits. I actually wash all of my dipes (pfs, fitteds, pockets, natural, microfiber, and pul) together and just hang pul covers, the rest goes in the dryer.

I use both inserts at once or in different combos- ie two of the big ones overnight.
