Wooden playsets and wasps

Ever since we purchased our Rainbow System wooden playset, we have had troubles with wasps. We have tried everything to get rid of them. To make matters worse, I googled wooden playsets and wasps and found out this is a common problem, but not much for solutions.

Can anyone please help me? Or should I just attempt to sell the playset on Craigslist at a loss?

After destroying their colony have one of these fake wasp nests hanging up nearby to deter them from coming back.
