Top foods to include in your diet

What are the top 3-5 foods that you think everyone should include in their diets, based on the nutritional profile. It's time for us to expand our diet horizons even more, and I need some direction!

We are fond of nearly all produce, so chances are, if you recommend it, we'll like it.

Not sure based on nutrition, necessarily, but for me (and what I like eating) I'd say the top 5 are:

raw almonds
baby spinach leaves
pink lady apples
green chai tea
coconut oil

and plenty of water, of course.

I don't think there is any specific food that *everyone* needs to incorporate into their diets. I do think the SAD is woefully lacking in good fats and fermented or cultured foods.

Five foods that I really like are butter (REAL butter, not margarine or other substitutes), bacon, chocolate (higher quality, very dark - I like Green & Blacks 85), cultured sour cream, and good cheese. If you can afford the grass-fed stuff, all the better.

Thanks to everyone for all of the ideas.

Great ideas!!

We already eat lots of spinach, apple, bell peppers, beans/lentils, and tomatoes. We do good on kale, broccoli, wild salmon, oranges, winter squash, and carrots

I'm going to focus on increasing some of these:
fresh asparagus (which we love but is often expensive)
blueberries (same)
nuts
coconut oil
Cabbage (which is cheap- yay!)
pumpkins
avocados
flax seeds (I use ground flax in baking- maybe that's enough?)
sea vegetables
collards
pineapple
dates
