reading in the car while dark outside

2 y/o DD loves to read in the car. It can keep her quiet for at least an hour. This is needed for my sanity since my parents and in-laws live 4-5 hours away. We leave when DH gets off work at 530 so we're in the car from 530-10pm. During the summer this works fine b/c it's light until 8 or 9pm, but starting soon it's going to be dark at 5 or 6pm. We can't have the overhead light on b/c it's annoying to the driver and DD is too little to hold a flashlight and read. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can rig up a light in the car so DD can read?

try a cheap clip light for books? I know leds will be involved in the final answer for energy's sake.

You can get pretty cheap led headlamps.
