Please help me before I lose it... - Page 2

Well here is what I would do. Take the gift store job now and apply for the PB store and see what they say. Retail is like a revolving door most times, people come and people go.

If you need winter daycare for DD, cross that bridge when it comes. Possibly aftercare extends over winterbreak, or you can hook up with other moms from DD's class. I also see tons of ad's on craigslist around holiday break time for daycare too. I bet there are mom's at your dd's school who to daycare for no-school days too.

My experience with a mom working is that childcare, clothing for work, lunches, extra gasoline, etc. often make it not worth the effort. You end up losing, financially.

If you like babysitting, how about that from home? Do you have some other talent that you could do from home?

I worked for an author, typing for him because he was blind. I did part of it at his house (I could take my children if they wanted to come) and ended up doing most of it from my house on my computer (he talked into a tape recorder, but I often needed him for clarification of something, but I did other book-related typing for him).

How about those who are caretaking/being a live-in companion to the elderly or infirm? They need time off. They may or may not pay well, but it's worth looking into if you think you can do that type of thing. Some of them don't mind if you have to bring your child if the child is well-behaved (doesn't tear their house apart).

Read "The Five Lessons a Millionaire Taught Me About Life and Wealth" by Richard Paul Evans. It has simple steps that help a person get out from under debt and it will probably help you figure things out. If you can't afford it at the Amazon link below, perhaps a library has it or you could get it on inter-library loan.

Seriously, the first step for you would be to read the book. If your dh reads it and you both agree to give it a try, it will be best. The next step is to really think about working from home if you need to be bringing in money.

Selling the house is a good idea if you can get a buyer - and that's "the rub" in today's economy. I'm not saying it couldn't happen. Miracles happen all the time.

Don't give up hope and, if you believe in God, make him/her a definite part of your team.
