Bleeding, Stress, and other things

I hardly know where to begin.
I went to pee tonight, and when I wiped I saw brown blood. Nothing heavy, but brown blood all the same. I'm about 6 weeks pregnant. I'm terrified.

I've been really stressed all day. My 20 month old and I have been stuck in the house together all day, nursing nursing and more painful nursing.I've called three midwives today without a phone call back, My dh came home after spending 4 hours at the bar without a single phone call since noon, despite my asking him not to come home drinking. (But he took that as "not coming home after drinking while driving.) DD took 1 1/2 hours to get to sleep, after both of us crying, and my sobbing and leaving the room.

My nipples hurt. My husband won't stop making alcohol, and other things a strain on our relationship, our lives and this pregnancy. I'm freaked out about this blood. Can't stop crying. I really don't know what to do, or who to turn to. I'm so tired of it all.

Does anyone know if stress could be related to the bleeding, if it's serious or normal? I really don't know what to think or do.

oh mama. I don't know about the bleeding. I have bleed with #3 and with this one at 5 weeks then 6 weeks but it all turned out ok. I just want to give you some support. I too have a partner who has alcohol problems, amoung other things. I go to AA meetings and they are very helpful. they also have alanon, for family members of people who alcohol has become a problem.
good luck to you. try to rest, ya right hey? But read stories to little ones, lay on the floor with a bunch of pillows and just lie there and play, sing or talk to them. get rest anyway you can.
My thoughts are with you

Remember... brown blood is old blood!

It could simply be implantation blood finally leaking out... from having DTD sometime in the past week and irritating your cervix... from working hard sometime in the past week and irritating your cervix... or yes, from the stress, but its old blood. Not fresh bleeding blood.

So take a deep breath, call your midwives back (maybe they lost your message) because they can reassure you better than some ladies online can (no matter how loving we are!) and maybe set up a day of pampering for your DD and yourself. Bake cookies if thats a good stress reliever for you. Its AWESOME for me, unfortunately, because that means my highest stress times result in my counter covered in baked goods lol.

Thanks for the support. I had a bit of a freak out last night. Today is better, and hopefully this bleeding stops soon. Thanks, again I really appreciate it.

I had spotting at the late 5 week, went to an ER, got two ultrasounds, blood tests etc. They diagnosed me "threatened abortion." I cried thinking I was going to lose my baby.

Now, I'm 21 weeks + 1 day.

Many women have spotting in the first trimester, crossing my fingers for you. Stick bean, stick.

brown blood is old blood and nothing serious to worry about. The blood you have to worry about is bright red. Hang in there mama...
