looking for slow cooker "baked beans" recipie

Thread Starter
I have those small white beans (dried) in my pantry that I need a use for. I would love to make baked beans but too many recipies I have found have WAAAY too much molasses, or use several beans out of the can (like canned pork and beans) all dumped in the slow cooker.

Sooo...I am looking for a recipie that--

--uses little molasses if any (and turns out more "tomatoey" like canned pork and beans
--does not use canned beans
--meat in it is ok
--is a slow cooker recipie

anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

1lb white beans
6c water
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 small onion, chopped
1/3 c molasses

1/4c sugar

1 tsp dry mustard
1/4 tsp pepper
1c water
1 can tomato soup
1c ketchup

1/4c cooked ham or bacon (optional)

Pick over beans. Wash. Soak overnight in the water.

In the morning boil beans, water & 1/2 tsp baking soda for 10 minutes.

Place optional ham, onion & beans in slow cooker or very large casserole dish with lid.

Combine molasses, sugar, mustard, pepper & 1c water. Pour over beans. Stir thoroughly. Be sure there is just enough liquid to cover beans.

Cover.

Cook all day on low or 250-300F. Cook at least 4 hours on high. Stir occasionally, add more water if they start to dry out.
