Witchy Weight Loss and Support--Fall Edition - Page 10

Well I'm doing great! After two weeks of barely exercising except walks (lots of walks. Some of them loaded down with an infant.) and with my attempt at helping DD clean out the candy stash : I'm down a pound to 147. I did make it to the gym yesterday and I guess it's been a while because I am SORE today. Ow.

It would be nice to start a new thread - I always feel like there's a shift of energy at this time of year as we head into the real dark part of the year...

What you guys said. New thread, yeah. Yule thread.

Spughy, you do look way different and really good! I hope to post those kinds of pics eventually!

Someone finally noticed today I've lost weight. Someone I haven't seen in a couple of months. I mean-- I've taken off 20ish pounds; that's a pretty noticeable difference. Yet nobody's said a word
I can't wait to see my mom over Christmas. I know she will say something. And M has already commented on the web cam

My Junior Size 17 jeans fit really nicely, now I mean, not even uncomfortable at all. I want to fit in smaller ones, now! Junior 17 is the largest Junior size.

I believe that either people are too distracted by their own 'stuff' to notice and/or they don't want to commit a faux pas by asking.

I guess to some it would be like saying 'when are you due' to a non-pregnant woman? To say, 'have you lost weight' might feel like they are actually saying, 'sheesh, you really needed to lose weight.'

I saw a friend this past week that I haven't seen since May. I weight almost 60 lbs less than I did then and yet she didn't seem to notice, and if she did she didn't mention anything. Bummer, really. But then I remembered that I am doing this for me, for my health and my spiritual/emotional/mental and physical well-being.

Still, people, noticing is quite a thrill!

ugh, "when are you due?" i got that yesterday.

congrats to you all on your losses! and general goodness! i'm going thru a bit of a rough spot. mainly not-body-related (mainly house issues and that darned wanting seasons-and-a-wonderful-garden), but a couple body things (and being asked yesterday when i was due sort of didnt help-- fwiw, i do not look pregnant, at least by my standards. but i was wearing a puffy sundress and it was really windy out, but gesh. be sure before you ask, dude. )

aubergine, i've been thinking of you and your dh-- my local healthfoodstore handouts all have mentions of cinnamon for blood sugar this month.

new thread for new season is grand by me. i think i'll be focusing on mainly eating the good things (like cinnamon!).

You know, that's one of the under-appreciated facets of being really short - people DO notice when you lose weight... however, I must say that people only JUST started noticing and I've lost at least 20 lbs. I think most people walk around with a picture of other people in their heads and things have to be *really* different before they notice variation. It helps if you wear different clothes, I think. Nobody notices I've lost weight if I wear the same clothes I did when I was chubbier, but today I let DD pick out my clothes and she put me in my skinny jeans and a tight-fitting shirt and EVERYONE noticed.

I think a new thread for the new moon is a great idea. Is it tonight or tomorrow? It's overcast here so I can't tell.

Oh, no! Well, if it was a guy, IMO they always seem to stick their feet in their mouths, like that. I got that same thing when I was nowhere NEAR pregnant. I was wearing a dress that was puffy like that, coming down a huge staircase outdoors in the wind, and I weighed like...hmm, maybe 10 or more pounds less than I do now, and this guy asked when I was due. Ugh. NEVER, never ask a woman that. Unless she's way sticking-out-obviously pregnant!

Yeah, maybe that's it. Yesterday I wore jeans and a turtleneck that, while not form-fitting, it wasn't huge either, like the flannels and sweatshirts that I usually wear. And I never wear jeans. My uniform-du-jour in the colder seasons is black stretchy pants and a huge shirt, either flannel or sweatshirt. Plus this person hadn't seen me in months.

It's tomorrow. I have Lunabar installed and it tells me every day

(((Aweynsayl))) I got something similar last month... from a woman at my yoga class: we had team exercices to do and she was reluctant to do it with me "because you're pregnant you know". The same night, my dance teacher commented on my body being tighter than a few weeks before.

I wanted to go back to boxing training this week but could come up with the monthly fees. I hope I can go next week.

I really want to have a stretching daily routine. I can't sit or squat with the proper back alignment cause it's too stiff in the back of my legs.

hugs back! it's so hard to know how to answer. on the one hand, yeah, i tend towards a fuller belly. i have a really short waist, and even when i'm *skinny* i am full at the belly, because there's no "going in"... i used to dream of having ribs removed to "create" a waist.

on the other hand, there's that awesome site on bellies. ohhh, when was the last time i posted that wonderful site? maybe i'd best go re-read it again.....

ok, that was easy to find! here it is. it's a wonderful site!

val, i've been keeping my yoga mat out in the bedroom, and i find i'll do just a few moments here and there, and it realllllly helps! but i still wish i did more.....

happy weekend all!

Oh, that's too funny....she's from here! Or, at least does a ton of stuff here. I went to a workshop one time. She doesn't even have a belly BUT she did have a lot to say about honoring oneself.
Look at all the articles...Western NC, Mountain Xpress...all local papers, for me
