Time's a-wasting! Post your to-do list here and check items off as you go! I'm hoping that by reading others' lists it will remind me of something that I may have forgotten.

post phone numbers for mw/doula/my mother on fridge for DH

buy fabric for new diaper bag (or just buy the blasted thing)
find someone who does placenta encapsulation
assemble home birth kit
buy nursing bra
get DH to take some proper pregnancy photos
get some craft supplies to keep the girls entertained during the birth
look into belly binding
install car seat
lanolize woolens

wax yeti legs

wash nursing pillow cover

Oh and somewhere in there I need to make Lu's birthday gifts and stuff for everyone for Christmas.

Great idea! Breathless Wonder's "12 weeks 'til full term" thread got me thinking about this as well.

We have a lot to do but we are slowly making progress. After weeks of deliberation, I finally ordered a decent stash of diapers last night—can't wait to get them!

Anyway, on the list:

• Strip and repaint old dresser so we have somewhere to start putting stuff
• Sort/wash baby clothes that we've gotten from friends
• Sort/wash diapers
• Figure out a co-sleeping arrangement (MIL may buy us a convertible crib that we can sidecar, or we may get an Arm's Reach co-sleeper from friends who didn't use it)
• Inventory clothes to see what we still need
• Buy a carseat (Britax Boulevard?)
• Get receiving blankets, baby washcloths, diaper wipes, diaper pail liner, crib sheets, random other baby linens
• Get diaper pail, changing pad, wipes container
• Paint the baby's room
• Buy a breast pump & associated pumping supplies
• Harass half.com seller who sent me the wrong Ina May book
• Get a baby carrier (heavily leaning towards a classic Moby Wrap and an Ergo Performance for DH to haul the kid around on hikes and whatnot)
• Pass along some used baby stuff that we won't use (one of those stroller frames that you snap a bucket seat into, a thousand and one types of singing, vibrating bouncy chairs, etc.)
• Trash expired, barely used carseat from public transit-using, city-dwelling cousin (boo ...)
• Research basic baby first-aid type stuff (thermometer, etc.)
• Finish building our bed frame (we're using this plan and modifying it so it's a bit lower—looks awesome so far!)
• De-clutter our entire freakin' house
• Teach the cat to stop shedding
• Have the chiropractor get me nice and aligned so this baby sails right out

Oy—that's enough for now. I'm going to keep coming back and updating this so I can feel either really accomplished, or really lazy.

Thankfully this is the second baby so my list is shorter because I don't have much to buy. It's even another boy so we really only need to buy a few season appropriate outfits! (Which, in Texas, means longer sleeves and some pants...)

I'll be back with my list. I have a toddler in my lap and I haven't had my coffee yet!

Build the bookshelf I bought the kiddos.
Buy a bookshelf for our room, set it up, and get big books off the floor
Make a trip to Goodwill to get rid of stuff
Try to fix my freezer, if that doesn't work, save to replace it
Buy 1/2 - 1/4th a cow and feed the freezer (when we have one)
Carve out some space for baby clothes, NB diapers, etc.
Wash the baby clothes, co-sleeper, car seats and put car seat #3 in the van
Potty train DD?!?
Clean the garage
Finish unpacking, hanging pictures, putting away games, etc.

Hm let's see:

Sew diapers
Knit soakers
Sort baby clothes then purchase seasonal appropriate clothing to fill gaps
Decide about deep freezer (buy one or not?)
Make sure we have food for during/after birth
Figure out if we're going to have someone watch our toddler during the birth
Purchase birth kit
Get on hubby about replacing his truck with a family-friendly vehicle
Unpack bucket seat and figure out carseat installation
Attempt to convince toddler to use potty
Set up bedroom for the toddler and attempt to convince him to sleep there
Purge some clutter from the house

I don't even want to think about it!! We've been in moving limbo for a couple months now. We don't even have our own place yet(waiting on a truck to sell and looking for something decent). It's KILLING me.

So the FIRST list goes something like:

Sell Truck
Use money to get in someplace nice
Acquire furniture(getting "new to us", as all our old was trashed or shabby and we didn't want to move it)
Put together a household and establish a routine for the kids(HUGE importance, the kids have been a MESS staying with the in-laws)

I can't even begin to wrap my head around what we'll need for a new baby without that first stuff out of the way. Thank goodness we have the less-is-more approach... Baby, boobs, and cloth diapers we already have for the most part. I will say that a car-seat and a bigger car(we have a 2 door Honda Civic) are priorities... But those will have to wait until we get moved too, as DH having permanent work bears heavily on having the $$$ for these others. He's only got a temp job(not a bread winner either) for the time being. *sigh*

Thankfully due to my obsessive cleaning/organizing a good majority of my house is baby ready.

• Finish sewing diaper covers
• Snap all diapers and covers
• Get a diaper pail
• Get a wipe warmer
• Get oils for wipe solution
• Get a toddler side rail for our bed
• Have my shower (Nov 13)
• Get a carseat
• Get a stroller
• Clean out and organize the bathroom get all baby toiletries together
• Put up shelves around changing area
• Go through and organize kitchen
• Clean out and organize computer nook
• Get our yard ready for winter before I am too huge
  
• Brush up on Bradley Birthing
• Get hospital bag together
• Get nursing bras

Some of these are not necessary for having a baby but I want to get my house cleaned out and organized while I have the time. I did want to knit up a bunch of wool soakers but I hurt my hand a few weeks ago and I still can't knit.

I did find out that the JoAnn's by my house sells PUL so I bought a few yards for covers since I am able to sew.

My list is seriously too long to be able to post. But I will post the things my husband and I have gotten done:

- About 75% finished washing/stripping cloth diapers
- Hung mirror in bathroom
- Painted the bathroom and closet
- Hung new blinds in all the rooms
- 1/3 finished hanging rods and curtains
- Brought in and cleaned plastic drawers that we will be keeping baby clothes in
- Washed/folded/put away 6 loads of laundry
- Secured bookshelves to the wall
- Cleared clutter from counter tops and table
- Washed mom and the floor ... Oh wait, that was an accident.

check out expiration on carseats (make sure that everything is still safe)

Argh, im sure this is a thread to get my butt into gear!!

My DH has been back for two weeks and we have just found out he goes away again in two weeks for a month!! I was hoping to have everything done before he left but there is absolutely no hope of that.

When he gets back I only have a week left at work so im hoping that I can organize everything from the babys room to the rest of our house as we are converting our spare room into a play room, which of course means furniture shopping.

Thank god we have a house cleaner fortnightly, I leave her a list and it gets done, she is my angel!

Good idea, I was just thinking about this this morning as I laid awake in bed at 5am.

Knit at least a few more pairs of longies
Find a soaker pattern I like, get knittin' some of those
Dye prefolds
Buy and dye flats
Buy anything needed to complete CD stash
Get all clothes together and figure out what seasonal things we're missing
Finish washing/stripping/fixing elastic in diapers
Find space to put all this stuff
Buy maternity coat
Finish DONA paperwork and send in
Finish sewing curtains
Hopefully buy small chest freezer and feed it

I feel like there is a lot more. I'm sure I'll be adding to the list!

Buy bed for ds2, since he's using crib mattress in floor of boys room
Buy bed frame for ds1, as his boxspring and mattress lay on the floor, I want the under bed space for storage
Buy basic manual breastpump. Anyone use Medela's Harmony?
Sell baby girl bedding I'd bought on clearance two years ago for $28 in case I had a girl.
Buy fishy pool for birth
Finish all my gardening and canning (new to that this year, love it!)
Find carseat for first month or so. Ours sits too upright in our minivan seats for a newborn, no matter how we adjust it
Wash all baby clothes. They're already sorted (I love to sort things)
Buy Christmas presents and bday presents for ds1, as he turns 5 dec 29

I'm sure I'll think of more in a few minutes
