Potty Regression?

DS is 27 months old. We did very part time EC'ing, but around 22 months he seemed to get it more and by 24 months wanted to wear undies instead of diapers. We used to occasionally have misses/accidents. But now it is seems like they are happening at least once a day. He has even pooped in his undies, which he is never done before. I kind of think that he doesn't want to stop playing now to go and pee. He used to always tell us when he had to pee or poop and now he only does about half the time, the other times he tells us after he pees in his undies.

Has anyone gone through this? I don't want to put him back in diapers. I have set a timer for every half hour but that doesn't always work either. I'm also worried that it might get worse when the new baby comes (in late October).

Any suggestions? I'm getting so frustrated about all of this.

our daughter was fastidiously potty-trained until about a month ago. there were no changes to trigger a regression....she simply decided she wanted to 'go' wherever she wanted to.

like you said, about half the time she can recogniz when she needs to 'go', and succesfully make it to the potty. other times.....it seems like she 'cant be bothered!'

sorry if it's not much help - just want to share. i have other ftiends with wee'uns arund this age, and they have seen the same problem.

one thing we have tried is to limit her liquid intake before we go out. as it goes, if she pees on our floor, we just get the mop (and explain about the potty, etc). but in a public place it's a little more difficult! we have an idea now of everyone (papa and i pantomime going to toilet before we leave the house) should try to pee before we leave. this has set a pretty good pattern, at least outside of the house.

good love and good luck!

Thanks for the support and kind words! I really need it. Yesterday was a record with 6 pairs of wet undies. He does have a lot of change to his routine due to DH's job schedule. I'm just not sure how much of a part that plays into it, since DH has always had a very dynamic schedule.
