Is this a good idea?

Mostly from an environmental perspective would it be a problem to paint outside objects with non-toxic tempera paint? My kids want to have a fall party today and I thought they could pretend to be fairies and use paintbrushes with fall coloured paint outside on the leaves and rocks. We will invite the neighbor kids and I sometimes have half-baked ideas so thought I'd run it be you all.

It would be in our backyard

If they are non-toxic, washable paints, I think the environment would be fine. I'd go for it.

Thanks- I started to realize by the number of people who viewed without posting that I was probably ok Appreciate the response though.

Yeah, I think they'll be fine as long as your kids are okay with the idea that the paint will wash off of whatever they paint.

So how did it go? I forgot to add earlier that this seems like an awesome fall party idea! We just might do it, too.

Yeah- I should probably remind them but that part should be ok. Winter fairy is coming after all

Thanks!! It felt like a brainwave because dd6 was grumpy and a bit sick and she loves the idea of being an autumn fairy. We didn't do it yet- she started to feel pretty crappy. I think I will invite the neighbor kids on the weekend. Should be fun! Hope the leaves hang on our tree until then.
