2 week old ~ How do you know they are getting enough?

She nurses for approx 30 min and then she's done. That's just one side. She falls asleep nursing....she usually comes off on her own. If its been 5 min and she comes off she acts like a Piranha looking for it so i put her back on...so i know she's hungry...but how do i know she's getting enough...
This is my first that i have breastfed, my others were all bottle fed (I tried to nurse ds1 8 years ago and i was a total fail)

Her poops are yellow color with little seedy looking things....until last night when i noticed it was greenish color with strings in it. (Could of been the lighting cause we sleep with a lamp on and the lamp is on her dresser and i change her on the other dresser so its not much lighting) but i can keep an eye on it today as to what color it is.

i know she's getting milk cause when she comes off she's got a dribble of milk coming out of the corners of her mouth.

Hi Mama,
I agree with pp, it's all in the # of wet and dirty diapers. Also watch her fists when she nurses. There's a philosophy that if the fists are still tightly clenched, the your LO isn't full, but if the fists relax at the end of a nursing session then they have eaten enough (for the moment) and are full.

If she is filling her diapers, and gaining weight (she should be close to or above her birth weight by now) she is getting enough. Her poops sound just right for a breast fed baby. If she appears uncomfortable after eating I would investigate, but it sounds like you're doing great. Congratulations on your little one, and good luck!

ok yep, i see the chenched fists...and she usually unlatches on her own...there was only one time i had to unlatch her and i really really needed to go to the bathroom... but when i got back i continued to nurse her and she falls asleep quite a bit...I stroke her jaw and then she starts sucking...She's got a lot of pee diapers...usually 2-3 poop diapers
