hello all!

i've been reading mothering magazine for a few years now, and it's finally time for my partner and i to start trying. the donor is coming out next week, and we're doing the whole syringe insemination.

i realize that the majority of mothering readers are married, but i was wondering if any of you out there are part of an alternative family or have ever used a donor.

regardless, this is quite an exciting time for us, and i thought this would be the best and warmest community to come to for support.

I am married myself, but just wanted to say that MDC has quite a broad and diverse community with all kinds of familial situations. I hope you will feel welcome and at home here.

I use donors, but currently get my donations the natural way.

I did use a syringe in the past, have also tried a diaghragm, and Instead Cups. Sadly none of thse worked for me, but the fault probably lay in the age of my donor at the time, he was over fifty.

i hope i'm not around here for long.

i had tried getting pregnant in the past (when the guy didn't know), but i blame my negatives on the fact that he was incredibly unhealthy and, well, just not the right one. **shrug**
