5. How long until you had your "all clear" on the sample? 2 months
6. Has he had any health/immune problems since surgery? yes, severe pain, lumps
7. Any other advice? do your research

I'm mostly scared of things I've read about long-term health problems:

-- Would the "closed end" prevent the sperm from "leaking" into his body and causing the alleged immune problems?
-- People who get the "closed end" report more pain, so maybe the "open end" wouldn't lead to painful, um, buildup?

Thank you so much!
I answered in red. There are quite a bit of complications possible. I would also urge you to check on the real failure rates of V. During a major pg scare I had after the V I discovered that failure rates are higher than the docs report. And so are the post V complications. Knowing what I know now, I would not opt for the V again.

Severe pain??? Still? Or just after the surgery? I'm so sorry.

Just after the surgery it didn't actually hurt that much. He spent the day on the couch with some frozen peas and that was all. It was about a year later it started to hurt. Intermittently at first, then a dull ache for a long time. Then the lumps appeared. Sometimes it's a sharp stabbing pain he says. A few months ago we think he had epidymitis (sp?). It was reallly really painful and swollen huge. It went away on it's own after about a month of that. So it's not severe all the time an it wasn't severe at first. It gets severe on occasion. Every once in a while, he'll wince out in pain and say his testicle hurts.
