teething cuspids, please tell me GIL is wrong

DD is 14 months and teething up a storm. For several weeks, she has been nursing every hour at night, on average, not to mention all of the other horribleness that comes along with teething. DP's grandmother says that the teething for the cuspids can last months. She's raised 9 children, but she's 90....hoping she's wrong. BTDT mamas, how long was it for you? I can't see anything in her mouth that indicates an end in sight.

I'm not sure which teeth you are referring to. My DD's bi-cuspids came in rather easily, but her canines took months. All other teeth, including her two-year molars, were easy in comparison.

I don't know what the cuspids are either, but yes DS's molars and canines did take a couple months to come in. And the 2 year molars took even longer.

Canines are the worst! they come in pointy and then slowly get bigger! They took over a month each and didn't start at the same time. And molars were killers as well. I would say teething in general takes years, but sometimes it goes on for several months straight!

Yeah, canines. Boo! At least I know now.

Our 14 month olf DD is teething her canines too. And so far it has been weeks with no sign of them. There was a bit of whiteness under the gums a few days ago...but it has disappeared. These ones seem to be the worst on her so far. And she got all four molars at the same time. She now has 12 teeth and I think she is getting all the canines together!

It took 2 whole months from the time the first one popped out (the top left) to the time the final bottom one appeared. But, to be honest, they didn't seem to bother him that much - at least not in any way that I had expected, with the way everyone says the canines are so painful, and no way compared to the hell we lived with for the first molars!
