celebrate with me!!

My DD (ASD and social anxiety disorder) is going on a field trip tomorrow!

They are going out to breakfast and to see a movie. This is huge. She's going with a small group from school in a van, no family members are going. She seems pretty happy and not at all nervous about it.

I know it sounds like a completely normal thing to do and it's hard for me to explain why it is such a big deal, but for her, its a milestone.

(feel free to add your own happy things to celebrate!)

Thanks for being happy with me! I'm trying not to act too excited about it tonight -- I think it would just put her off the idea.

I'm happy for both of you!

May this be the first of many enjoyable excursions for your daughter.

Since you asked, DS (who has a severe swallowing disorder) has finally begun eating some solids!

I'm just thrilled for her. Having a DD with ASD and a LOT of social anxiety, I know how big an achievement this is for your girl. Yay for her! Yay for all of you!

I bet this time next year he's eating TONS of stuff!

DD had a really good time today. She ordered for herself and handled her own money, and is open to going on another mellow outing with her school.

Yay! I hope I get to post something happy soon. Go see my post trying to explain and figure out how to advocate for my son, who I am POSITIVE has an auditory processing delay.
