Nightweaning advice

DD is 9 months old, but we're expecting a baby in the spring and I'd like to have only one baby in bed with me at a time. So I'm thinking of starting to nightwean when she's a year old. That gives me four months before baby's due.

Good links or advice on nightweaning?
Is one year very early for this?
How long does it take, on average and is four months enough?

I'll want to transition her out of our bed around the same time, and hopefully into her sister's bed (6 years old). Should I do them simultaneously (maybe it would help to not be in my bed?) or wean, then move her sleeping space?

Poor kiddo--so much upheaval all at once. This baby better be a great sibling to make up for it!

congrats on your new pregnancy. Here is a link to a method a lot of other mamas have tried:

I used Dr. Jay's method and it took us a few weeks. I night-weaned DD when she was 14 mo., but I would not have tried it before she turned 1 yr. Just be prepared to have set-backs, like when LO gets sick or when the new baby arrives, because they will happen!
