Night-weaning a reverse cycler

Anyone have any brilliant tips or tricks for me? He's been reverse cycling for probably about 6 months now (he's 12 mos), even though I SAH. Everything is just far too interesting to slow down and eat. But I really need some sleep, and I'd really love to share a bed w my DH again, but neither is going to happen until he starts sleeping more than 3 hrs at a stretch.

So has anyone managed to night-wean a reverse cycler?

I guess I should also point out that he weaned to a bottle months ago, so DH can (and sometimes does) take over night-time to allow me 8 hrs, but getting 8 hrs a couple times a month is not enough.

I wonder if he would drink from something other than a bottle during the day? I started working when my oldest daughter was one, and she had *no* interest in a bottle during the day (would take one at bedtime when I worked evenings). But she would happily drink milk from a straw cup or even a little open cup, which helped her to fill up a little more during the day and reverse cycle a little bit less. I know some people that swear by a quiet, dark room during the day for feeding, but I've never had any luck convincing my toddler that it's a good idea...

Not brilliant, but it might help a little
