I'm Just Blessed-No rhyme or reason for the thread just a random thought process!

So a thread the other day, Got me thinking about why my DD is the way she is. I RARELY drink (I mean like 1 drink on New yrs MAYBE, and 1 drink on my BD MAYBE) I dont use any illegal drugs, If I have any vices it's caffeine and chocolate! My DH & I are both intelligent, our other children are all typical..So I sat here and pondered, and thought and got really sad..then it hit me..$hi* happens..Sure shes never gonna be a rocket scientist, She may never even move out of the house..But Shes beautiful, and she has an outlook on the world that makes me PROUD to be her mamma...she has no hate or prejiduce..she doesnt find flaws in other people (unless of course you drink the last of the milk!)..she wakes up singing with the birds, and she lights up the room wherever she goes. SO as the title says I'm just blessed!

So mamma's if your reading my insanity and like me, trying to cope day to day..just remember we are blessed!

Thanks Aslyn!!

It is so easy to focus on all the struggles, hard to remember to sit back and focus on the positives our SN kids bring to our lives.

It isn't fair, it isn't fair that Connor has to work so hard to keep up with the bare minimum. It isn't fair that our family is so stressed by managing him.

But, he's beautiful, he's wonderful, he has such a great outlook on life, he WILL go places and do things because dang it he's stubborn as all get out! I AM proud to have him as my son. I DO accept him the way he is, even though I wish upon every star that he didn't have to struggle.

It's such a hard thing. Sure, I'm blessed to have a wonderful son, and yes I should focus on that more. But at the same time, I think we SN parents are entitled to our share of the "why me"s and our toddler tantrums of "no fair"s. I don't think any of us should feel any guilt for those feelings. I try hard not to let those feelings encompass me though, because like I said, he is wonderful and I do love having him.

Such a circular thought process!!!!

Isn't it?

I think recent events have just made me think more about how special all my munchkins are and how I am lucky to have them sn or not, they make me happy when everything around me looks bleak and depressing. And my DD as odd as she may be, she cracks me up with the way her mind works.
