And yes, I agree with the PPs - stuffed animals have to survive a visit to the washing machine every couple of months.

Washing machine and line dry for most of them.

If there was a special one that we didn't want to get all matted though, I'd probably give it the bran treatment

I have the owner wash the stuffy by hand in the sink, spin out in the washer and hang to dry outside. Dd has some very, very clean stuffed animals!
