Vacation and CDing

I've been washing my CDs in gentle detergent and then putting them through a second cycle of just water, then dry in machine or air. EVery once in a while I strip them with vinegar, sometimes Borax and very occasionally a tiny amount of bleach (yes, baaaad Mamma, I know. I just have to admit that sometimes bleach smells less like a wicked chemical and more like a nice, clean room to me. I rinse twice when I do that).

We're going to be staying with my Dad for a little over three weeks and I don't want to impose too much on his laundry facilities. I'm bringing enough dipes to get us through two days and a bit. Think I'll be OK just washing them on a regular cycle but skipping the extra rinse and then stripping when I get home? He's in Europe and I remember his machine took about 90 minutes to get through a cycle...ugh! I'll line-dry there.

Also, a totally different question. I've occasianally used cloth washclothes to wipe, but I've never even really investigated using cloth wipes much. I just found baby washclothes on huuuuuge sale and now I have a ton of them. I've washed twice to get soft. Is there a way to make wet-wipes with a little mild soap? I forsee them just getting all mildewy. I'll google, but if anyone here can guide me, it'd be very welcome.

Thanks,
G.

I use those cheap baby washcloths and I just have them by the sink and wet them with warm water as needed and dump in the diaper pail. I have about 3 doz. and they work great. I might need 2-3 with a poopy but otherwise just one does the job. I have a wipes warmer which I might use come winter when it takes longer to make warm water run from the tap so I don't waste so much water, but I'd probably stick with distilled water for that since water has been working well. Some people just use a peri bottle or spray bottle but it's too cold here for that most of the year. DD hates a cold wipe already and it's still warm here!

Thanks for the tips!

I also use tap water. I was thinking more about ones to take on-the-go. Can you put a few into a ziplock baggie, or do they just mildew when you forget to take them out of the diaper bag at the end of the day(!)?

i have dry ones in my diaper bag and a wet bag for all the used stuff. i figure i won't forget the diaper for long! can wet them wherever i change.

i think distilled water takes longer to create rot...if you want them wet
