ds' current favorite in elvis, elvis, elvis. he's going around right now playing air guitar to it with remote in hand to skip past the "slow" ones! we are not elvis fans, but have 2 greatest hits with about 25 songs on each, i am soooooooo sick of elvis!!! past favorites have been johnny cash, michael jackson, queen, the cars
we never play "kiddie" music for ds, so whenever he hears it out somewhere he gets this look on his face like "UGH what is this?!?"

DS doesn't like "kid" music either. Right now his favorites are Phish, Gillian Welch and Tom Waits

He loves, I Gotta Feeling by the Black Eyed Peas.

"Tonight's gonna be a good gooooood night!" is what he sings.

Ours likes Johnny Cash and The Beatles.

My 2.5 yr old DS really likes the Ramones version of the Spiderman theme. He seems to like almost all music, but that one makes him dance uncontrollably.

We are parody fans...

White and Nerdy & Gump by Weird Al

Outer Space by Venetian Princess (Poker Face)

James@War's Old McDonald parody of Into the Night

Anything done by Tim Hawkins

Also, Pomplamoose's remake of September.

Mine likes Bowling for Soup too! And Peter Paul and Mary. And Guns and Roses. And Tom Petty. And Eric Clapton. And Genesis. And...and....

We're pretty eclectic.

his current favorite is, uh, soulja boy. it's my fault because I liked this one song and used to play it in the car and now ds knows all the words and is hooked on anything soulja boy. he goes around singing "all the way turned up."the other favorite is "mommy, teach me how to dougie!"

he also likes John Elton, Aventura, the "chicken noodle soup" song....omg he could sing that one all day long. he likes smooth jazz, oddly enough....when we are in the car and he is sleepy he will request "something quiet" and that is want he wants to hear.

But my ds still loves his kid music too. we listen to lots of raffi and putumayo kids and stuff like that around here. *i* like kid's music thankfully so it doesn't drive me crazy until about the 999th time.

Bob Marley ("No Woman-No Cry" and "Three Little Birds" are faves)

Sammy Hagar (thank you, daddy - because now I have the only preschooler who knows the lyrics to "I Can't Drive 55" and "Mas Tequila")

Doobie Brothers ("China Grove" , "Rocking Down the Highway")

Jack Johnson

for his bday. didn't even know it existed, but it's actually pretty cute. ds didn't like it at first, but now he knows every song!

The Pogues, Metallica, and Johnny Cash. DH plays songs by these bands on his guitar often and DS really enjoys ''jamming'' with him. DH modifies the more mature language when he sings it.

Pearl Jam....he asks for "Ed" - We sing him Elderly Woman as he falls asleep. He also likes U2, DMB, and he loves "Baby I like it" by Enrique Inglesias

Beastie Boys, the Beatles, Yeah Yeah Yeah's, U2 and pretty much anything from Glee.

Thanks for that link. I've heard a few of those on Sesame Street, but they sound much better coming from Johnny Cash. I'd buy that for myself because I love his voice.
