Any experience ecing a baby that isn't yours?

I am going to start a temporary nanny job on oct 4th. The children are 4, 2.5, and 8 months. The 2.5 and 8 month old are both girls and both in disposable diapers. The mom would like to work on potty training the 2 1/2 yr old. She was really impressed with my daughters ability to communicate her toileting needs. She wants gentle methods which is why she hasn't started and she has said that she has no problem with me taking the 8 month old potty. so.....
I have always used cloth (except while traveling)
I started ecing w/ dd at birth and was around her all of the time.
Will it be confusing to the lo to potty with me but not with others? Will she be able to be aware in sposies? Will I waste a ton of sposies changing her as soon as she wets? Will pottying her possibly encourage her sister (it did w my ds)? Any ideas would be great.
I don't know how much ec I will do but can not imagine letting her go on herself if I am aware that she needs to go. So I guess it just depends on her signs.
Also, they will be going to India in Jan. for 3 months. I think ec is widely practiced over there and I had hoped that if they had exposure here and then see it over there it might continue even when I am no longer involved. Just hoping

EC was the normal practice in India but recently disposable diapers have started aggressive ad campaigns and even have fake doctors in their ads saying that diapers are better for baby. SO these have caught on in the urban areas though still not in the rural areas.

I have ec'd others' kids and I also know people who ec part time so I dont think it would be a problem if you EC her. I am sure you will figure out the diaper thing. Would the mom be open to using cloth at all? And what about bare-bum time? Even those who use diapers do offer bare bum time, no?

I think part time EC is never a bad thing and based on 2 different care givers will be even less confusing for the baby than one person doing it part time. Kids, and even infants are very aware that things are different with different care givers. The familt I work for used disposables with their first (I am hoping to change that with #2) and I ALWAYS changed her as soon as she was wet. She was potty trained right around 2 and I like to think that being changed promptly helped in that. And YES, I truly believe that "peer pressue" is an amazing tool in potty learning - ie monkey see monkey do! Sounds like they are lucky to have found you and maybe you could make a big difference for this family going forward!

Thanks ladies, I start on the 4th and we will just see how it goes. I just can't imagine letting her go on herself and sit in it now that I am aware of what babies are capable of.
I will bring some of my pre-folds over as we aren't using them right now. Since I will be doing the childrens wash I will just throw them in with the regular wash (unless they have a problem with that). She is crawling and they have carpet so we will just see how it goes.

I used to EC my nephew when I watched him. Even though I didn't watch him regularly, he seemed to come to expect that I would EC him and wanted to use the potty when he was with me. Sometimes he was in his sposies and other times I would throw on on of my son's cloth trainers. Like Shanny2032 said, he didn't seem confused. He expected different things with caregivers. His mother eventually did begin to EC him for a very short time and he was very receptive to that as well.

In regards to monkey see monkey do, I am sure it helped that his younger cousin was using the potty when he was with me!

Good luck, have fun!
