For the past week or so I've had terrible headaches in the morning, as soon as I stand up. So I decided to start monitoring my BP and found out that right after I get up I'm 130/80 (I'm usually 106/60). Throughout the day it drops to 120/65, which is still high for me. My swelling has spread to my fingers too. I'm getting an electronic monitor today, to make sure the numbers are right (I'm not very experienced at the manual method, which is what I've been using). Tomorrow I plan on taking it before I get out of bed, right after I get out of bed, and then periodically throughout the day. Should I call my OB with the numbers on monday, if they're high, or is that something that could wait until my appt on wed? Also what diet changes will help? I plan on completely cutting out added sugar, watching salt and other common sense, healthy diet changes, I just didn't know if there are any fruits or veggies that are helpful in lowering BP. TIA
