Best books and websites for wealth building and early retirement?

I'm trying to strategize for retiring no later than 65. DH keeps making pessimistic remarks that both of us will be working past that. I'm not quite sure who's going to want to pay us a salary when we're pushing seventy. I don't see that happening in my industry, to be honest.

I'm interested in books and websites about alternative ways to retire? I'm also really interested in income properties and using that as a retirement strategy. Any suggestions on how to find out more on how to do this practically?

Well for sheer overall financial stuff I did like Your Money Or Your Life. It gives you a way to chart savings/income/spending to see at which point you can retire.

Unless you're already 55 and not have much retirement savings, it's totally possible to retire a bit early. My mom's only worked for 15 years in US (immigrant) but has a good sized retirement savings and a paid off house. She's still working, but even if she retires now she'll be comfortable.

I'd be interested in book ideas as well. We want to retire early, too, before 50 if possible.

I absolutely love Smart Women Finish Rich (or Smart Couples Finish Rich) by David Bach.
