New to running. What kind of bras?

Hello running mamas,
I've just enrolled in the Learn to Run program. I've never run before. I really want to give this a good shot and get some activity in my schedule. I've never really thought about active underwear before but the few times that I've run I've felt I needed more chest support. Fwiw, I'm nursing my 18mo and although not too much it still makes me uncomfy to not have firm support. What kind of bras/tops do you wear and recommend. I'm average chested, not small but not extra large either.
TIA.

I really like my underarmour running bras. They aren't too expensive, seem to last a long time, and hold me pretty firmly without hurting.

A word in advance, Bodyglide is awesome stuff if you experience any chafing. I put it under my breasts and on any strap areas that may rub a little.

Good luck!!!

tHANKS, Bec. Do you have to wear another minor shelf-bra type top on top or just a tee?

I don't. I know some people do and feel more comfortable with that, but it's not necessary for me. FWIW, I am between a C and a D size cup, and really hate jiggle when I run!

I bought a couple of sports bras from costco a few years ago and they are still going strong. I am a B-C cup most of the time. I have also got some from target and they are good too.

I like to wear a shelf bra tank on top of the sports bra most of the time, but that is also for easy nursing access if I am on a longer run with DD.

I am 3 weeks post partum and can't wait to get back into it. I ran until the day before DD2 was born. I am craving it.

Hope you like it as much as I do.

After lots of weight loss, I'm still a DD cup. I cannot recommend highly enough Enell bras. They are expensive and a pain to put on the girls stay.in.place like you wouldn't believe. Incredible support. I don't even want to try anything else (although now that I'm smaller, I know I should since there's bound to be more options). The Enell bras have been holding up very well.

Double ditto! I've had the same one for years and it is still great. But I need a larger one now since the girls have grown a bit.

I can't remember what Target's store brand is but I've been using their sports bras for a couple of years (even before DS was born) and they work fine for me, plus they are pretty cheap. But like most sports bras there's not the most flattering.
