Six hour drive at 25 weeks?

I have a trip that is 6 hours away (by car) scheduled in a week and a half. I will be 25 weekish.

I was going to go with a friend, but she is bailing out. There is another person I can carpool with, but I just don't care for her company.

I am trying to decide which will be harder on my pregnancy, driving 6 hours by myself, or sharing driving for 6 hours with someone I just don't care for. Note, she is nice and friendly, but we just don't click in a really awkward way, like I cannot even hold a conversation with her if you know what I mean?

I drove about five and a half hours at 32 and 34 weeks. DH was with me, but he doesn't drive. So I had company in the car, but I did all the driving. Anyway, it was fine. 25 weeks shouldn't be a problem if your pregnancy is going smoothly so far! Just make sure you pull over as often as you need to for stretching/peeing/snacks/alertness.

For me, I'd rather just drive by myself. But I don't like being the in the car that long even with people I do like. LOL Going by myself means I can control the radio, the stops, everything.

For me, I am 24 weeks, and driving an hour is hard. I don't know why, but I am pretty uncomfortable with back pain already. That being said I would totally drive by myself. Because I can stop to pee, drink, stretch, eat (I am sure I would be stopping to eat at least twice - is that bad??) and walk around without feeling bad if someone else was on a mission to get there within a certain amount of time

I'd do it by myself. 6 hours isn't really that far imo.

i did it twice at 26 and 27 weeks (on the way to and from my wedding... so definitely no choice in the matter!)

I had to take a couple potty breaks but other than that it wasnt hard at ALL!

Now a 3 hour drive at almost 42 weeks? no. thank. you.

I made a trip like that, but DH drove. Not sure what your pregnancy's been like so far, but I would've needed a nap (or two) if I attempted to drive that far myself. I'd vote to go with the other woman, and bring some music or a book so there are fewer awkward silences.

At the end of July my now-DH moved me from BC, Canada to Denver, CO. Took us approx. 2 days and 1500 miles. I had "morning" sickness so I had to medicate myself and I still made it here totally fine.

I drove 1500 miles (with three howling cats in the car no less) when I was 33 weeks (moved from NE to CA). It took longer than we thought it would because I had to stop for frequent pee/food/stretch breaks but we made it. My mom made me bring a list of all the hospitals along the route though . Didn't need it...except for her peace of mind.

I would also vote for going at it alone...make sure you cell is fully charged though, and bring lots of good distracting stuff to listen too.

My OB said as long as I stop every 2 to 3 hours to move my legs he has no worries, I figure I will need to stop that often to pee probably anyway.
I have a desk job and can sit on my butt for a nine hour day if I take lunch at my desk, so I figure isn't too different.

This will mostly be open highway driving, not too much negotiating cities.

LOL we had my 50lb dog in the van with us, he would only softly whine when we reduced speed and had an A/C vent right above him (rear windows are tinted, too.) He actually seemed to enjoy the trip. Dogs.

We stopped at most rest stops etc, too.
