what kind of lotion do you use, if any?

ds2 seems to really be in tune with my 'scent'. i never noticed if ds1 was, so i applied many types of scented lotions. since i see ds2 obviously smelling and enjoying my milk scent () i dont want to confuse him or ruin this bond by wearing a strong smelling lotion.

so ... what do you wear? my skin is so dry, and we have Ca Rezz lotion, but they are very expensive and i try to put it on the babies only

id love to see what everyone does

I have the kind nurses use when they wash their hands. I am allergic to a lot of colors and smells, so either this (I think it's Provora? Provo-something!) or like aveno really basic, no smells!

I only really use it on my hands (that I have psoriasis) you're not needing it for your nipples are you?

I use extra virgin pure coconut oil as lotion, on me and DS. You do smell a bit coconutty at first, but it absorbs into the skin pretty quick.

no, just for my legs and arms. i guess its kinda silly, but i have this fear of "overpowering" my ds2 with a weird scent

I put bath oil on my skin while still wet from the shower all the time, it has a really light scent that is gone pretty quickly. I only use lotion in the winter or if I happen to have some dry skin for some reason. For areas that are really dry, I use the Eucerin in the tub, this stuff is great, but too thick for just general application. For that I use the Eucerin (for daily use I think it is called?) in the pump bottle. Neither has a scent and works well for my somewhat sensitive skin.

You could try Olive oil after a shower. It sounds like it will be greasy, but it's really not

Long story, but for a marketing class I had to try these little towels infused in olive oil, I was skeptical, that I would be a greased pig, but it was pleasant and I was very soft afterword

Let me see if I can find the thing I used.
I can't seem to find them, maybe his idea didn't take off : they were marketed to the AA/Ethnic beauty crowd, maybe look there

We use pure, unrefined Shea butter... Alaffia brand to be specific...

Good observation re. your baby's sensitivity to odors! Babies can detect mom's odor (they can recognize pads soaked in mom's milk, for example) and respond to her scent.

I use sweet almond oil unless my skin feels dry (usually winter-time w/ lots of indoor, heated air), then I use sesame oil. Olive oil works okay, too, but it's really heavy. I buy them in organic bulk at our local foods co-op. Since these don't contain chemical preservatives, I only buy a small amount at a time, and keep extra in the fridge, otherwise they can go rancid. I sometimes add a couple drops lavender or peppermint essential oil. I apply them after bathing but before drying so my skin is still moist.

Our skin is our largest organ & chemicals we apply to our skin can be absorbed systemically. I found that when I stopped using chemical containing and petroleum containing products on my skin (artificial fragrances, -parabens, etc, including the lotions and remedies that are recommended for skin conditions), that I stopped getting eczema and dry skin. My hands stopped getting chapped, hang-nails almost completely disappeared.
