What's your fav milk jug/pitcher?

I get raw milk in glass jars which are hardly ideal to pour from because they drip, are heavy and have no handle. I've tried various pitchers from the local stores but I've not found one that I'm crazy about. One type I tried got warped lids after I ran them through the dishwasher so that didn't work. Another kind was too difficult to clean. I would like to know what you all use, pretty please.

TIA!!!

I was thinking of getting the half gallon jugs to make it easier for the kids to handle....but then I switched farms & now they delivery in plastic gallons. (I'd rather have glass but you take what you can get ).

I liked the half gallon glass pitcher from bakers catalogue until i broke it. It had a sealable lid so the contents didnt taste like last night's dinner. I like their liter ones too, but the lids dont seal.

in the spring, look for glass gallon jugs for iced tea or sun tea, that have a plastic lid with a handle, and a hole with a small hinged opening for pouring. they are the best!

Thanks for the ideas! I decided to go for a plastic container because I shattered a glass pitcher on my bare feet just recently which was no fun. I ordered a tupperware gallon pitcher that does the air tight seal thingy. Fingers crossed that this will be the one I love.... Regarding the sun tea pitcher -- I've atually looked for one before but I guess it was the wrong time of year. I might have to get one of those and try it too.

I have a few glass pitchers and all came from thrift stores. Two are square-ish juice pitchers with round, spout tops. One has a small, plastic lid that pops on, the other has a rubbery stopper-like thing for a lid. I also have a couple old Tang pitchers from the 70s/80s that my mom had saved and gave to me.

I don't like using plastic at all for milk. Not because of the plastic itself, but because plastic is porous enough that it is really difficult to get really clean, and milk is fatty and clings to the plastic. I milk my own goats, and everything I read says not to use plastic pails for milking (I have an old aluminum milk pail and a stainless milk pail, both also from my mom).
