#of wet diapers?

Hi. Low supply mama here. I'm just reading on kellymom how a baby older than 3 wks should have 4-5 wet diapers per day. They say a heavy wet diaper is a diaper with at least 4-6 tbsps of pee. So, I'm in my kitchen making test diapers. I feel as dumb as it sounds. Anyway, some days I struggle to get the required amt. The absolute most I ever have is 5 but it's usually 4. I'm just wondering, how many wet (by kellymom standards) diapers do you all get per 24 hours? My sil says she doesn't have low supply and only gets 4 per 24 hours which makes me feel better. Basically I'm always worried dd isn't getting enough and her wt gain has been slow all along so I'm keeping track of wets to make sure she's getting enough. Thanks in advance everyone.

Kellymom says "5 - 6+ sopping wet diapers per day (after 1st week).
Expect one wet diaper on day one, increasing to 5-6 by one week. To feel what a sufficiently wet diaper is like, pour 3 tablespoons (45 mL) of water into a clean diaper (if baby wets more often, then the amount of urine per diaper may be less). Urine should be pale and mild smelling." http://www.kellymom.com/bf/supply/enough-milk.html

I think you are expecting too much looking for 4-6 tbsp.

My little guy had about 14 wets in 24 h but they were all small. I was satisfied that they equaled 6 heavy wets. (I had over supply at that time)

eta: you can always do a 24 h diaper weight count to see. Just do before/after weights with the diapers (easier with disposables as they all weigh the same.)

Nothing strange about measuring water into diapers. Sounds like a normal new mom activity!

I think poops are now considered more indicative of "getting enough" than pees, because pees are so variable & hard to quantify (and if you're using disposables, easy to miss). Baby should be having at least 3-4 good sized (make an "okay" sign w/ your thumb & forefinger - at least that size) poops a day. By now, stools should be seedy and yellow/brown, mustardy color.

Doesn't sound weird to me, either, as a fellow low-supply mom!
ITA that stooling is key. My babe always had enough wets even though we wasn't gaining, for example.
The bottom line, though, is weight gain. Can you either rent a scale or find a place where you can do regular weigh-ins on the same scale (we have well-baby and BF drop ins for moms here, for example)?
It may be more reassuring than the diaper weighing
