Tips on helping a lefty learn to write?

My DD is 3.5 and is asking me how to write letters. Before I get flamed, I just want it out there that I am not asking whether or not I should be teaching her to write letters. She is asking, so I am going to show her. Now that we have that out of the way, she is a consistent lefty. I am unsure if there is anything I need to be doing differently since she is a lefty. Any lefties with any tips?

Thanks!

I'm left handed and the only thing I do differently is to place the paper diagonally.

I think most of us lefties learned to write without any special consideration.

If you look back a couple of pages or do a search you'll find more threads on this. The question has come up a lot in the past month or so. Lots of newly writing lefties I guess!

There are several ways lefties write, but I remember turning my paper to the left so I didn't smudge whatever I was writing. I've seen others turn the page perpendicular to where it is normally too. As I got older I developed the hook- I write above the line for no smudges again. DH is left handed as well, but he writes with his hand below the line. I think it's all trial and error and eventually she will find a way she feels most comfortable.

I was just reading about turning the paper. This is all new to me as DH, DS and I are all righties. Thank you for responding!
