Second parent adoption in IL?

DP needs to adopt our son, but it is illegal in MI where we live now.
Our atty suggested we relocate to IL where second parent adoption is legal. Has anyone done this there? We have no issues with moving, just want some feedback from anyone who's btdt. TIA!

Thanks for asking this question! We recently moved to IL and are currently ttc #2. We had #1 in CA, where second parent adoption was a piece of cake. I haven't researched the details here in IL, though I've heard that it is possible. I hope others have some detailed information. You might also check with NCLR (National Center for Lesbian Rights); at the very least, they can probably refer you to a lawyer who has experience in IL.
