Need help choosing food processor

I hope this is the right place to post this, I wasn't sure. I haven't ever had a food processor, nor have I ever used one in any form. But they sound like a nice idea. I make everything we eat from scratch, so I do put in a lot of time in the kitchen.

Not knowing anything about food processors, I don't know what I "want" in one, what's important and what's fluff. That being said, I'm trying to decide between two models....
This: http://www.cuisinart.com/products/fo...dfp-14bcn.html which is $179.99
And this: http://www.cuisinart.com/products/fo...s/fp-12dc.html which is $249.99

The higher price of the second is not prohibitive. I would just like some input on whether it's worth spend the additional money for the additional features.

Thanks!

If cost isn't an issue, I'd get the second one because that smaller bowl is pretty cool! I have a 9 cup Cuisinart & it works perfectly for most of my needs but occasionally I'd like a bigger bowl to make more date cookies or more hummus at one time. And...sometimes I'd like a smaller bowl to make a small bit of pesto which gets lost in the 9 cup. I don't know about the other features.

I just looked at the other features & it also has a dough blade. Nice. I don't have a stand mixer so I'm drawn to that, too. (Now you have me wanting this. Ha!)

I have this one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ms_ohs_product

3 bowls, and does everything I need including kneading bread dough, which I prefer doing in the food processor over my stand mixer.

They both have dough blades, which is further reason why I don't know if the more expensive one is all that much better for me.

I have this one and love it! It's really pretty darn quiet too which was one of the reason I chose it.

I have the KitchenAide w 2 bowls. I cant look at your links right now, but different bowl sizes are a must for me. I actually use the small bowl more than the big one. For me, that would be the main attribute i need. Knowing how i use it, everything but the chopping blades are superfluous, and the small bowl is crucial.

Although i will say that i wish mine had the oil dripper in the chute cover. That would mean i wouldnt have to stand there for 10 min dripping oil to make mayo.

I got the KitchenAide one as a wedding present. I do love it and still use it but I will say that the locking mechanism on the bottom of mine broke after regular use for about 2 years. It's a little less stable but it still works.

I really like the shredding and slicing blades, it's so much quicker than by hand and everything is uniform

I like the second one with the 2nd smaller bowl. That's really handy for pesto etc.

I have a Braun which I love. I had the same one in Australia which I left there and it had the second bowl (current one doesn't) and I really loved that about it.

That said, the first one would be fine too.
