Ankle pain when running

After about 3 or 4 miles . . . It's like a stabbing pain on the inside of the ankle. Sometimes left. Others right. If I keep going after doing a couple of foot rotations, eventually the pain goes away. Is this just normal kind of stuff? Or is something wrong?

I went and got fitted for new running shoes not more than a month ago. Ran on the treadmill and everything. Dropped over $100 on the shoe. I have orthotic insoles too (for flat feet) and I wear them faithfully. Could it be the shoes? I can't imagine that it could be. I mean, I'm really hoping not. Really, I enjoy running but I cannot swing another pair of shoes so soon. Oh, I'm wearing Asics GT-2150.

If the pain started after you got the new shoes it could be an adjustment to the shoes still.

If it continues I'd get it checked out by a foot doctor.
