Hi mamas,

DS has been a selective eater for a while, but recently it's gotten a lot worse. He's fairly healthy (on the lower side for weight & height, but OK) & is almost 18 mos, still nursing.

He's not eating any of his old favorites, and he won't try anything new either. Used to do oatmeal, not any more. Used to eat pasta, not any more. Used to eat vegetarian "deli" slices & cheese, not any more. Used to eat eggs, not any more. Etc, etc.

It's basically been 4 days of hardly eating anything! A couple bites here & there, but he hates sitting down for a meal & will just play with his food once he's there.

I'm hoping some of you have ideas about (1) how to get him to eat again, and (2) what we can do to vary up his diet. His diet is VERY carb & dairy heavy, with some fruits, but basically he refuses all vegetables (unless we hide them in a sauce). I swore I'd cook him fresh food, but, honestly, about the only sure thing he'll eat is ww mac & cheese from the box. DH & I both work/study full-time & it's really hard to be motivated to squeeze in cooking for him when most everything goes wasted.

Oh, and another thing... he absolutely refuses leftovers that have been reheated... Seriously, this kid is very particular.

I guess I'm also wondering if he's just testing us... holding out for the yogurt & blueberries we often give as a desert, which he often asks for... Throwing or sliding his food off his tray when he's done or doesn't want what we're offering.

This is all driving me crazy... I hate that we have to cook two separate meals (and then throw his away)! ... Especially since we are on a tight budget but find the money for organic foods for him!

TIA for any advice!
