Friends, I read this forum often and have learned immensely from you - new ways of thinking, doing, and challenging my own assumptions. Of all the forums and lists I read this is the one where I find diversity of viewpoints, honest reflection on ups and downs, and willingness to rethink.

It is part of a larger work elaborating my understanding of the "radical" in radical unschooling, to mean, coming from the root. Often "RU" is associated with specific house rules (famously wrt TV, candy, bedtime) but I see these not as the salient indicators of "RU or not" but rather [forthcoming in next part of article].
