bfing tops for big people?

i intend to bf for a very long time when this kid arrives in january. last time, i just lifted my t-shirt and pulled out a boob. i'm self-conscious about my weight gain though, and would rather reduce the amount of skin i'm going to show! i know it sounds dumb but i'm more self-conscious about my belly skin than my breast.

my problem is, i'm obese with huge breasts. i can't cover with one of those nursing covers, i need to physically see what i'm doing in order to get a decent latch. no discreet nursing with regular clothes. and i can't find nursing tanks or T's in plus size.

in motherhood maternity clothes, i'm a 3x with bigger breasts so the tailored shirts don't fit. if that gives you some idea of what i'm talking about (my actual size is 40L but i don't expect anyone to understand how big that is).

is there somewhere i can shop online? make my own - find a pattern? i need help..

I'm a large lady too. I gave up trying to find decent nursing clothes in my size - if they do exist, they're super expensive and dumb looking.

My operating procedure is to always wear a tank or a cami with long straps under my regular shirt. Then I can pull up my shirt, pull down the tank, and pop my breast out. That way my back and belly are covered when I feed. If I need a little more privacy, I'll drape a baby blanket over my shoulder and try to position my body between the baby and the rest of the world.

I buy mine at Lane Bryant. (normally the cotton Supima ones)

It may help that I am really short so I probably have more strap than most.

I also have a few Motherwear items.

Yup, I do the tank or cami under another shirt too, hides all that belly skin quite nicely and you don't have to buy nursing tops either I just buy nursing bras and I even skip those on the weekends.

I have found bras in my size at motherwear.com I just looked on the site you can get up to a 48L in the great support nursing bra says style #6270 , you need to call their customer service. 800.950.2500
I also love the tops - my fav style is the empire opening, saves the belly from being seen.
good luck hope you find something that works.
