So I'm really unsure how to handle this and could use some guidance. We were swimming at one of DS good friends' house yesterday afternoon and after we came home, while preparing the DD (who's almost 2) for her bath, a little videogame cartridge, a small button pin, and a penny fell out of her swim diaper. WTF??? DS and his friend are 7, the friend's older sister is 11, and they were all playing together in their bedroom unsupervised (it's a 1-bedroom apartment and we were right there in the next room the whole time). DD never complained or acted strangely, but I find it completely bizarre and disturbing to have these items just fall out of her diaper (and the pin jabbed her a little when I pulled off her pants). DS swears he didn't see anything weird, and DH thinks I'm overreracting, but this is freaking me out. Nothing like this has ever happened before, and DD isn't in the habit of putting random things in her pants. My question is -- am I overreacting? What would you do in this situation? Thanks in advance!

I agree with the PPs. Give the stuff back and let all the kids know that random objects don't belong in anyone's pants, in a non-accusatory way. If you are still worried, keep the kids in your sight the next time you visit.
