Objects in diaper after visit to friends WWYD? - Page 2

Do you know if your DD was watching Rugrats? :-) I ask because my 2 year old has been watching Rugrats and the babies in the show are always stuffing things into their diapers so she started to do it as well. It cracks me up! She considers it her "pocket". Next time we go clothes shopping I'm going to be sure to buy her stuff with lots of pockets!!!

That's funny! Nope, we don't watch Rugrats, but that doesn't mean DS' friend doesn't. DH & I honestly don't think DD put the items in her diaper herself, especially since she was wearing a one-piece bathing suit at the time. The suit does have an opening in the back, though, which would make it easy for someone else to put something in there. I'm sure it was just kids being goofy, but it was disconcerting nevertheless since the items don't belong to us (at least the button pin and game cartridge don't) and I didn't expect there to be a sharp object in her swim diaper . . . we're keeping a more watchful eye from now on.

I wouldn't worry, I agree with some PP's that perhaps the other kids saw her doing this with one item and may have handed her others, or just not stopped her from doing it herself with all the items.

My DD is 16 months, and I've found several odd things in her diaper. The one that sticks out the most was last easter, before putting her in the backpack and going for a walk I thought to change her diaper. She had shoved (somehow) half of one of those plastic easter eggs into her diaper! I didn't know what to think, as it was just her and I in the house

The bolded sentence makes a difference. I agree that she probably wasn't the one puttin things in her diaper. Kids do silly things and while I'm sure it was all in innocent fun. I think you would be wise to inform the parents just in a "letting you know" kind of way. Mainly because of the sharp object. If I read your post correcty the other kids are old enough to understand that a sharp object could be potentially dangerous for your DD given her age so purhapse they need a friendly reminder.

If I was in your shoes that would be the route I'd take.
