Baby doll for soon to be big brother

My son is 3 and we are expecting our next in May. I'm trying to find a baby doll for him to practice with that is not creepy or made of nasty chemicals. Any suggestions?

We got a Corelle baby doll for our DS. I don't know if it is made with nasty chemicals, but it definitely doesn't smell. He doesn't play with it much now but I still think it was a good gift to get an idea of changing diapers, etc.

Corelle dolls are not made with nasty chemicals- they have very high standards, and I think those are great dolls. Our waterbaby doll is also popular with my kids for that age, as it can go in the bath, and they have updated that they also don't use phatalates either.

Another cute choice would be to make him a doll, either a waldorf one or one from www.bitofwhimsy.com which are cute easy to make dolls.

Congratulations!

SOME Corelle dolls have tested for some nasties, but they were the crazy ones, like with purple scented hair or something. But generally the brand is excellent and the first one I'd go to when we want a plastic doll.

I'm making DD a baby doll (Joy's Waldorf doll pattern; bought the supplies and pattern from Wier crafts online). But you can find cloth dolls for sale, too. And if you hunt around, they don't have to be $$$$ either. But I made DD a girl doll last year b/c I couldn't find exactly what I wanted unless it was some super overpriced special edition whatnot.

My son loves his Bitty Twin from American Girl doll. It's made in China of course but very high quality.
