Ugg Retraction - Need to Vent

DS had is 18 month old WBV today. The doctor retracted his foreskin!! Honestly she only pulled back a little (unlike some stories I have heard of full retraction), and it was over so quick (less than 2 seconds) and I did not have time to react. DS didn't seem bothered at all, but I cannot stop thinking about it. I am just beating myself up over it. Our doctor is wonderful and has never done this before so I was so unprepared. I do plan to say something at the next visit, but I just feel awful. I needed to come here to vent because DH told me he thinks it is no biggie and I need to get over it (I tend to overthink everything and cannot let things go).

I'm sorry

I'm new to having a baby boy, so here's where I'm confused...

Why is ds still getting checked under his diaper? I thought that was only to check if the testicles are descended and for hip clicks. My ds had his 2 month check for those things, and all was clear. Is there still a need for him to be checked under his diaper? I don't think dd had them after 2 months.

I would definitely say something. I would recommend writing a letter and including information on the care of the intact penis (I'm sure in the resources thread you can find one that talks about care of the intact penis and WHY it should never be retracted even a little bit, I'm just too tired to dig it up right now, sorry!). Or, you could prepare yourself and do it in person at the next visit and bring the paper with you. If it were me I would at least make sure not only the doctor receives it but the head of the practice so they, hopefully, will read it and relay it to all of the HCPs in their practice.
