Celebrating 1 Year

My LO had her 1st birthday yesterday and we are still nursing! I am feeling very blessed. This time last year I was just starting nursing with many mistaken ideas (start scheduling feedings at two weeks, limiting time at breast, night weaning by 12 weeks, weaning by 1 year and ABSOLUTELY no cosleeping!)
Thankfully, my little girl cried and cried until we ended up seeing a IBCLC. It took some work to correct 3 weeks of mistakes but now one year later she is still nursing 7-10 times a day as long as she needs, she has never had any formula, her crib is sidecarred to our bed, and we hope to continue as long as she needs. So now I am celebrating.

My DD turned 1 last Sunday. I had some early mishaps but for different reasons. DD had jaundice and she did get tiny measured amounts of formula in those first few days. After my milk came in we've been nursing happily ever since. Her crib is also sidecarred and she nurses when she needs to.

Yay us.
