sigh what a feeling

There's nothing like giving your child something you've made (for example today in my house it was homemade jam from autumn berries) and watching their expression light up as the first bit hits their tastebuds.

This is why as mothers/wives/partners we do what we do.

I love that. I put some homemade concord grape jam on homemade oatmeal bread this past weekend for my kids and they loved it. My yard was overrun by 50lbs of concord grapes this summer.

My four year old said to me on Sunday, "I don't want to wear this dress, Mama. I want to wear the one that you sewed for me. The one you made me with all your love. That's the dress I love!"

Melt my heart, why don't ya!

While not home grown, DS 10, loves my homemade granny smith apple sauce. No other apple type will do. That boy is just a tad bit spoiled!

That's so cute and wonderful at the same time! Enjoy it, the reactions can change a bit during teenage ("but the store-bought bread tastes better", "none of my friends wears stuff like that").
