I'm looking for some suggestions for my soon-to-be 3 year old daughter for Christmas and her birthday shortly after in January. She's precocious and prefers 'real' things. She spends a lot of time using her play kitchen at the moment. We own very little with batteries but don't hate battery operated things necessarily. We also don't have a lot of space for big stuff, and she doesn't need anything. But the grandparents (and great-grandparents, and aunts and uncles, etc) will want to get her something. She doesn't need clothes either as she gets lots of hand-me-downs.
So what's your favourite interesting and creative toy? I'm not stuck on it being non-plastic or have any other pre-conceived notions as to what makes something good. I was thinking some sort of marble-run set (have a great one?), and things that might be craft-oriented or science-oriented.
She also likes to paint, cut with scissors, draw, tape (I should buy stock in tape), and stickers. Or money for her education account! But I want to give the relatives lots of options and they will ask.
Please please help!
